SATURDAY 22 AUGUST 18:00 | Film screening and conversation at queer café De Kurk, Arnhem
Wij Zijn Het Archief / We Are The Archive, directed by Duizend Kleuren, 33 minutes, Dutch spoken with English subtitles, Dark Matter Collective, 2024.
“We Are the Archive takes us into the hidden past of the black queer community in the Netherlands. What connects us to the generations before us, and what can we learn from each other? In this film a group of young queer people of color meet the women of Stichting Mil Colores, who have been creating meeting places for women of different ethnic backgrounds and gender preferences since 2000. A story about identity, resilience and a history still in motion.”
You are also warmly invited to join us at Plaatsmaken before the film screening for the first part of the finissage of POETS IN THE KITCHEN REVISITED with Tabea Nixdorff and anne krul.
15:00–17:00 | Collective reading at Plaatsmaken
Bring a personal book (a text that supports or inspires you). With cake and (iced) tea. Please register via mail@tabeanixdorff.com.
About POETS IN THE KITCHEN REVISITED
During their residency, anne krul and Tabea Nixdorff worked together as an intergenerational duo, using poetry, archival wandering, silkscreening and book making as artistic tools and mediums to explore broader questions about how to break silences, as a way to create and reshape supportive structures and practice solidarity and allyship.
