With the traditional graphic workshops and the digital workshop, the Plaatsmaken Foundation offers artists the opportunity to experiment with traditional and digital techniques. You can come and work in our workshops for a half day or a whole day. Are you planning to come more often? Then you can also purchase a strip card, with which you can come and work for 10 half days at a low price. Reservations can be made by telephone (026-3515697) or via info@plaatsmaken.nl.

Student rate
Are you an art academy student and would you like to use one of our workshops? This is possible for our special student rate of €5 per day (€2.50 per half day). Experience is required for using the screen printing workshop. This can be done by means of an introductory workshop screen printing, with us or (if possible) at your art academy.

Screen printing studio

Artists and designers can work independently in the screen printing studio. Commissions are also carried out for artists and designers. The workshop has two large professional screen printing tables with a maximum print size of 120 x 160 cm.

The facilities in the workshop are good and there are sufficient large format screens to meet the needs of the users. The screen printing company has knowledge of and experience with printing many types of materials in different formats such as paper, cardboard, wood, ceramics and textiles. The workshop is open to experimentation, new developments and creative ideas submitted by artists.

Would you like to screen print yourself but you have no experience yet? Then it is wise to first follow an introductory workshop.

Etching studio

Plaatsmaken has the largest etching press in the Netherlands, which can print wood engravings, linocuts and etchings up to a size of 150 x 250 cm. Acid trays and heat table are made in a size of 100 x 110 cm. In addition, there is an etching press on which a size of 50 x 70 cm can be printed. There is a dust box with a working size of 80 x 100 cm.

Working with Toyobo plates is also possible. Toyobo plates are metal or plastic plates with a light-sensitive layer. You can use them as a photopolymer plate, with which photographic images can be exposed on the plate in a simple and non-toxic way, after which they can be inked and printed as an 'intaglio'. These plates can also be exposed and developed as a relief plate.

Digital film studio

The available equipment in the studio meets the requirements for a professional approach. Artists can work independently or under supervision and have work carried out. 4k video recording is possible as well as editing and effects, graphic applications and the associated software.

Digital print werkplaats

In addition to the facilities for moving images, Plaatsmaken has high-quality printing capacity. The piezography printing technique is a technique that is increasingly used in both photography and fine art.

Specifications
The Epson SureColor SC-P9500 piezo printer is equipped with the UltraChrome Pro12 ink set with K3 technology from Epson, which prints the two types of black at the same time. The printer also has orange, green and violet, so that the user benefits from an exceptional color accuracy.

Darkroom

The darkroom in Plaatsmaken is set up to work in the traditional 'wet' way. There is a Durst enlarger for 35mm negatives and also one for the 6 x 6 format. Printing up to 50 x 60 cm is possible.

The darkroom is also used for photopolymer.
